Auto Utility Upload. 2025 electricity usage has been uploaded to the City & County of Honolulu’s (C&C) auto upload function! To access the auto utility upload, you need to click on the following link: https://bbb.utility.touchstoneiq.com/. Note that electricity usage does not automatically sync to your EnergyStar Portfolio Manager properties in subsequent years after the first sync. To do so you must log into the portal and then go to Consent Management. On that tab you must locate your property and click on View Synced Data. Confirm if the 2025 electricity data is in the system and then click Sync Utility Data in the top right corner of the screen. That should sync the 2025 electricity data to your property. You will need to do this for every property inside of EnergyStar Portfolio Manager. If you run into any issues, you can contact the City & County of Honolulu’s Better Buildings Benchmarking Help Desk at bbb@energy.honolulu.gov.

Scorecards. The C&C has sent out scorecards for all those properties that submitted benchmarking reports in the previous period. The scorecards compare your energy use intensity (kBtu/square foot) and water use intensity (gallons/square foot) to the median energy use intensity and water use intensity for your building type (ex. multifamily housing). It is useful way of comparing your energy and water use efficiency with your peers. If you are interested in looking at ways to reduce your energy usage and water usage and save money, the scorecards provide contact email addresses for Hawaii Energy and the Board of Water Supply. They can help you implement cost effective strategies.

Engagement Letters. With the deadline approaching on 6/30 and the C&C sending out their mailers, I have received numerous requests for engagement letters. If you decide to use my services, please send the signed engagement letters back as soon as possible. This will ensure I can assist as many buildings as possible. The closer we get to the deadline, the more backed up the City & County of Honolulu (C&C), utilities, and third-party service providers will be. My fees will increase for any engagement letter that comes in after May 1st to account for the compressed deadline. If you have any questions about my engagement letters or fees, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
